*Note: The Video/Screen Record widget is only available under the Scale plan and Enterprise plan.

Pre-recording

This section talks about what you need to set up before you start recording.

I. Video Library

You can now organise your videos with the new built-in video library using folders.

  1. Create folder - click the icon beside New Video to create a folder.

  2. Rename the folder

  3. You can record videos and Add it to Library.

  4. This library is also available in your Content Library under a new tab, and you can also record videos from your Content Library. You can now move, organise, manage, and edit your old videos here.

II. Recording Modes

  1. Camera Only mode

    • Recommended for introduction videos

    • You can now choose your camera and audio source

  2. Screen Sharing Only

    • Recommended for demos

    • Allows you to share a tab / window / entire screen with a voice-over

    • New Refresh Screen icon on the upper right to change the screen

  3. Screen + Camera

    • Highly recommended for a more engaging video demo

    • Allows you to share a tab / window / entire screen with your video that can be customised

    • You can change the size of your video by clicking one of the circles when you hover your mouse over your video. The default is set to the smallest.

    • You can drag your video to your preferred placement on the screen

Recording

Notes:

  • When using screen sharing (modes 2 and 3), please note that you have to click Start Recording in the Pod first before you go to the tab you are sharing. When you're done recording, go back to the tab of the Pod to stop the recording.

  • There is a new record video button that lives in the bottom left corner in the Pod editor.

Post-Recording

This section talks about the new functionalities of the video widget where you can edit your recorded or uploaded videos, and manage the video thumbnail.

I. Video Trimming

You can now trim the start (head) and end (tail) of your videos.

  1. Click on Edit Video, and drag the pink arrows to shorten your videos. With the new audio waves display, you can now easily trim the dead air or cut the wrong takes!

  2. Click Continue once you're done trimming.

  3. The trimmed video will auto-save in your library, replacing the original video.

  4. If the video is good to go, click Insert to close the video editor, and display it in your Video widget.

At this example below, I cut a total of 4 seconds of dead air.

πŸ’‘Tip: If you want a copy of the original take, before editing, click on the 3 dots above the video, and download it or duplicate it. You can reupload it at a later time so you can split (dividing the video into shorter segments to remove unwanted parts) it and use it for splicing (combining two clips together).

II. Video Splicing

Video Splicing is when you combine two or more video clips together in a single video track. You use this to stitch video clips that you split, and rearrange the order/sequence of the clips.

  1. Select a video from your Video Library.

  2. Click Edit video.

  3. Click Add from Library to add your 2nd video clip.

  4. Drag and re-order the clips as needed.

  5. Click Continue to save the changes.

  6. Watch the preview of the video then click Insert once it's ready.

III. Changing Thumbnail

You now have the option to manage your thumbnail! Yay! πŸŽ‰

Honestly, who wants a randomly-taken frame from the video (usually blurry with eyes half-closed, mouth open πŸ˜…) welcoming our prospects when they open the Pod? No one, we think. Unless we do the "Millenial Pause" at the beginning so we can have a better thumbnail, no? Lol. We don't have to do that anymore!

Choose between these as your thumbnail:

  1. Snapshot Image taken from the video

  2. Upload a Custom Image

  3. Select a GIF πŸ₯³ from the video

  4. Upload a custom GIF

To change your thumbnail,

  1. Select a video from your Video Library.

  2. Click on the 3 dots and select Change thumbnail.

  3. Click on the Image tab or GIF tab.

    • Snapshot Image from video - You can select a frame from your video by sliding the pink line across the video progress bar/time bar. You can also use your left and right arrows from your keyboard to determine the exact frame you want to use.

    • Upload a Custom Image - upload an image from your PC to replace the thumbnail.

    • Select a GIF from the video - Slide the pink bold line across the video progress bar/time bar. You can also use your left and right arrows from your keyboard to choose the GIF. Click Select and wait for it to process.

    • Upload a custom GIF - upload a custom GIF from your PC.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Click Insert to update the video thumbnail.
