How to create a Zap

A guide on how to create a Zap using the trumpet - Zapier integration

Creating Zaps in Zapier to use with trumpet

Watch the video or see the step-by-step guide below:

  1. Selecting Trigger

    • Click on "Create" and "Create Zaps" in Zapier.

    • Select trigger and search for "trumpet".

  2. Logging in and Selecting Trigger Event

    • Make sure you are signed in to your trumpet account in the right-hand panel.

    • Select the specific trigger event you want to automate.

  3. Choosing Action

    • Choose the action you want to take place when the trigger event occurs.

    • Examples: sending an email, creating a notification in Slack.

  4. Building the Zap

    • Build out the workflow by connecting the trigger event with the desired action.

    • Automate functions from trumpet to other tools in just a few minutes.

Using the Create Pod from Template action:

Creating a Pod automatically can be made very easy with our create Pod from template action.

When you select this action, you are presented with a few fields:

This is a list of any template on your account.

Title

This is what you'd like your Pod to be called when it's first created.

Recipient Company

This is the name of the recipient company for the default trumpet variable.

Recipient Company Domain

This should be the URL for the recipient company, this is used for the auto-personalisation.

Variable

This field appears dynamically if your template contains any variables. It only appears if the template has any variables inside it.

Pod value

This should be the value of the deal. This allows you to see reports on how your Pods are succeeding.

Pod Owner Email

This should be the email of the person you'd like to be the Pod owner, if they do not have a trumpet account it will default to the account owner.

CRM Id

This should be the ID of your CRM deal. Filling this out will send Signals to the CRM.

CRM type

This is the CRM type that you are sending it to.


The name of the CRM should always be formatted as one word, in all lowercase as shown below. Supported CRMs are: hubspot, salesforce, pipedrive, close, sugarcrm, activecampaign and microsoftdynamics

CRM link

This should be the link to the CRM deal.

Crm Object

The object type in the CRM e.g. account, deals, contact, opportunity

They should be formatted always as lower case. The type of object is depending on what CRM you're using.

For note; HubSpot calls opportunities; 'deals', and Salesforce calls opportunities; 'opportunity'.

*Variables only are required if they're included in a template.

**These fields are required if you'd like the Pod connected to your CRM.
