1. Head to Integrations in Truss
2. Grab Your Connection Token from Karbon
In your Karbon account, scroll down and select Settings
On the Settings page, scroll down and select Connected Apps
On the Connected Apps page, scroll down and click on Truss
Note: When you click on Truss, it's going to open the page below 👇
In Karbon, this page will appear with your Token shown:
Note: ⚠️ Treat this Token like a password — keep it private.
3. Copy and paste your Karbon Token
💣 Boom — you’re connected!
4. Syncing Contacts
⚠️ Already using Truss with active contacts?
⬇️ DO THIS FIRST ⬇️ - to avoid creating duplicates and messing with your current contacts!
🆕 If you’re brand new to Truss 🆕
No existing contacts in Truss AT ALL - just hit Start Sync and you’re good to go:
5. Automate Workflows
Make sure this is turned ON 👇:
📥 “Create a work item in Karbon when a client completes their upload in Truss.”
This automatically creates a task in Karbon once your client uploads docs or submits a form in Truss — super handy.

🎯 Filter by Client Groups
Want to bring over client groups from Karbon?
Want to bring over client groups from Karbon?
Enter the exact group names (e.g., “VIP”, “Bookkeeping Clients”)

Truss will import them as tags on your contacts/entities
👥 Limit Sync by Contact Type
Only want certain contact types (like individual tax clients)?

Enter specific Contact Types from Karbon (e.g., “Client - Individual”, “Client - Joint”)

Truss will only sync contacts that match
