Approving Documents and Pages

  • Click the approval flow button to open the panel

  • Approve at two levels:

    • Entire document (via the document-level check/flag)

    • Individual pages (page-by-page)

  • Toggling:

    • Click a check again to unapprove a previously approved page or document.

    • Use the flag to mark items that need attention

  • Hotkeys

    • Approve current page: Ctr + Enter

    • Approve entire document: Ctr + Shift + Enter

    • Flag page and next: Ctr + ]

Pro Tip: if you forget hotkeys: open the main menu and click Show Help dialog.

Reviewer approval and stages

  • Three approver slots:

    • Reviewer 1 (red)

    • Reviewer 2 (blue)

    • Reviewer 3 (purple)

  • First-come, first-serve:

    • The first person to approve becomes Reviewer 1, the second becomes Reviewer 2, and the third becomes Reviewer 3

  • Visual indicators:

    • Approvers are shown in the top right via avatar or initials

    • Approved items show:

      • A colored check mark in the outline

      • An approval stamp in the top-right corner of the document page

  • Completion indicators:

    • Once a page/document is approved:

      • Outline shows a colored check mark

      • An approval stamp is placed on the page; hovering shows:

        • Approver initials

        • Date

        • Time of approval

    • When all three approvers have approved a document that document is highlighted in green

    • When the entire document category is fully approved the whole document shows as green

Note: Only one person can be actively approving a document at a time.

Navigation and Filtering

Category Expand/Collapse: use the arrow control to collapse/uncollapse categories

Page Expand/Collapse: use the eye icon to show or hide all pages vs just file-level view

Document Filter: Filter by document category (default shows all categories)

Status Filter: shows overall status: Approved, Not approved, or Flagged

Views and Ordering

You can switch how the outline is displayed:

  1. Document Type view (default)

    • Groups and orders documents by tax order

  2. Outline Order

    • Reflects any custom ordering you applied when generating the workpaper

  3. Tax Order view

    • Organized in tax order, similar to the document type
