The import/export functionality simplifies the process of replicating quizzes, especially for merchants managing multiple stores, by preserving most quiz settings during the transfer. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you navigate this feature.
Exporting a Quiz
Exporting a quiz is available on all plans, including free ones. Exporting allows you to move a quiz from one store to another. Follow these steps to export a quiz:
1. Go to the Quizzes Section in the Target Store
In the store where you want to import the quiz, go to the Quizzes tab.
2. Click the ‘Import a quiz’ Button
You can manually copy the key or click the 'Copy Key' button.
3. Go to the Original Store and Export the Quiz
Navigate to the store containing the quiz you wish to export. Select the quiz, then click the 'Export Quiz' button.
4. Enter the Import Key
After selecting 'Export Quiz,' you will be prompted to paste the import key.
Once you enter the Import Key, click the 'Export Quiz' button. Your quiz will now be exported to the store associated with the Import Key.
Important Notes
Export on Free Plans: Exporting quizzes is available even if you are on a free plan.
Importing Requires a Paid Plan: Only paid plans can import quizzes.
Product Connections: While most quiz settings and customizations will be imported, product connections will not transfer as they differ between stores.
Translations Not Transferred: Translations for default buttons and text elements ( such as the “Next Question,” “Go Back,” , ‘’Finish alter ‘’ buttons ) will not be transferred during the import process. The quiz will revert to the default English translation for these defaults buttons and text elements.
Non-English Translations: Your questions, answers, the email capture page, the results page, dynamic content blocks and placeholders translation will still be transferred.
English Quizzes using customized text: If your store uses customized text for the default buttons in the quiz ( a custom English translation), be aware that these will not carry over. They must be reconfigured in the new store after the quiz is imported.
Use Cases: This feature is perfect for merchants managing multiple stores or locations, allowing them to easily replicate quizzes and only reconnect products afterward.
