You send the perfect cold email. You get the response… now what?

Just like in an in-person conversation, you want to reflect the other person's writing style and deflect negative emotions.


This means matching their:

  • Formality

  • Complexity (length + sentence structure)

  • And elevating their positive emotions

You wouldn’t respond to a formal, long email with a short, casual note. You wouldn’t respond to a casual one-liner with “dear” or “sincerely.”
