Bias Breaker is a tool exclusively for use in Image Generation. The Brandtech Group prototyped Bias Breaker, a proprietary tool designed to be a step in the right direction for overcoming inherent bias in large language models at the point of inference. Bias Breaker uses roll of dice probability to add a layer of probability-backed inclusivity to your prompts.

AI Image generation models can often produce biased results due to the fact they are drawing from very large datasets containing human bias. Some models try to correct for this.

The Bias Breaker is found as the ‘Improve’ button seen below. It will seek to improve the prompt overall while also ‘rolling the dice’ with the most common elements of diversity - age, ethnicity, gender, physical ability. It is completely random, so you may find that it takes a number of uses of the Improve tool before you see diversity-related change to the prompt.

It’s important to note that the nature of the tool means that there is no guarantee that images that have been through the bias breaker will be free of bias. This is where the human-in-the-loop is of critical importance.
