Masking images is a fantastic way to enhance your designs by allowing you to hide or reveal parts of an image. With the new template editor tool, this process is easier than ever. In this article, we'll guide you through the simple steps to mask images, helping you create stunning visuals with ease.
What is Image Masking?
Image masking is a technique used to control the visibility of different parts of an image. By applying a mask, you can hide certain areas of an image while keeping others visible, within a particular shape.
How to mask in the new Template Editor:
First, launch the template editor tool. You can do this by selecting the template you want to work on from your dashboard. Once the editor is open, you’ll see a range of tools and options on your screen.
Choose the image you want to mask. Click on the image within your template to select it. This will activate the image editing options in the toolbar.
In the toolbar, look for the masking tool icon. It might look like a small mask or a shape overlay. Click on this icon to open the masking options.
Choose a mask shape: the template editor offers various mask shapes, such as circles, rectangles, and custom shapes. Select the shape that best fits your design needs. For example, if you want to create a circular profile picture, choose the circle mask.
Once you’ve selected a shape, you can adjust its size and position. Click and drag the corners of the mask to resize it, and move it around to position it over the part of the image you want to keep visible.
Once you’re happy with the mask, click the 'Done' button to finalise your changes:
The masked image will now be part of your template, ready for further editing or saving:
