Whether you're updating visuals or experimenting with new designs, understanding how to use the Replace button can make your creative process smoother and more efficient.

The Replace button in Pencil's Template Tool allows you to easily swap out images in your design without altering the layout or other elements. This feature is particularly helpful when you want to refresh your visuals or test different images to see which works best.

How to use the Replace button:

  1. Open the Template Tool: Access Pencil's Template Tool from your dashboard and select the template you wish to edit.

  2. Select an Image: Click on the image you want to replace within your template. This will highlight the image and bring up the image toolbar.

  3. Click the Replace Button: In the image toolbar, you'll find the Replace button. Click on it to open your image library or upload a new image from your device.

  4. Choose a New Image: Browse through your asset library or upload a new image. Once you've selected the desired image, it will automatically replace the existing one in the template.

  5. Adjust if Necessary: After replacing the image, you can make any necessary adjustments to ensure it fits well within the design. This might include resizing or repositioning the image.

Benefits of using the Replace button:

  • Refresh Visuals: Keep your designs up-to-date by regularly replacing images with new or seasonal visuals.

  • A/B Testing: Experiment with different images to see which ones resonate best with your audience, helping you optimise your design for better engagement.

  • Consistency: Maintain brand consistency by easily updating images to align with new branding guidelines or campaigns.

  • Efficiency: Save time by swapping images without having to recreate the entire design, allowing for quick updates and iterations.
