Yes - images that are added to the Asset Library can easily make use of background Removal functionality.
In the following instance I have generated a simple image of a well-lit, ripe strawberry with a yellow background:
You need to add the selected photo to my Asset Library by selecting it and choosing 'Add to Assets' towards the top right corner of the workspace.
Go to the Asset Library and locate the image. Click the three dots next to the image and choose 'Remove background'
The background has now been removed, and from the same menu you will see the option to 'Add background' which will add the original background back in. If you want to keep a copy of each version, you should duplicate the image, and remove the background from one of them.
