Introduction

The Impact Report has been built to make it easy for Admins to access simple, up-to-date metrics about how their teams are using Pencil. Impact Report solves this by offering a real-time, self-service view of key platform usage metrics; eliminating the need for complex spreadsheet tracking and manual requesting of data.

How can I access the Impact Report?

This feature is available to all Pencil Pro Admins and requires no additional setup.

All Pencil Pro Admins will see the Impact Report in their Settings menu once it has been launched.

What can I see in the Impact Report?

  • Core Pencil metrics including:

    • Generations

    • Exports

    • Team-wide usage patterns

  • Custom ROI view

    • Input your own costs to generate a personalised productivity snapshot

  • Privacy-conscious design

    • All data is team-level only - no individual user stats are shown.

The Impact Report will allow you to view the following Metrics:

  • Date Range

  • Workspace

  • Team

  • Generations (will include deleted generations)

  • Exports

  • Time Spent

  • Time Spent/Generation

  • Generation/Export

  • Time Spent/Export

  • Cost/Export

We track active time by recording a small signal every half second while a user is interacting with key parts of the tool, such as the text, image, or video editors. These signals pause automatically if the user is inactive for 15 seconds or switches away from the tool, so our efficiency metrics only reflect time spent actively working.

The Impact Report will allow you to provide the following Inputs:

  • Cost per generation

  • Hourly cost per creative person

Additionally:

  • Data can be summarised as Sum, Average (mean) and Median

  • Data can be exported as a CSV file.

A sample report view is shown below:

Please get in touch with your Customer Success Manager (CSM) if you require help getting setup and making use of the Impact Report.
