What can I include in my Brand Library?

Your brand library contains all the information that Pencil needs to generate ads that are aligned to your brand guidelines. This can include text, images and other brand assets:

Knowledge

Brand description

A brand description is a brief overview of a brand's core values, mission, and unique characteristics. It serves as a foundational element in brand guidelines to ensure consistency in communication and helps audiences quickly grasp the brand's identity.

Brand purpose

A brand purpose is a clear statement that defines the fundamental reason a brand exists beyond making a profit, often tied to social or environmental goals. It serves as an inspirational guide in brand guidelines, helping to align marketing efforts and connect with consumers on a deeper level.

Brand history

Brand history is a narrative that outlines the origin, significant milestones, and evolution of the brand over time. It provides context and background that can enhance storytelling and deepen consumer connection with the brand.

Brand insight

A brand insight is a deep understanding of consumer behaviors, attitudes, or motivations that can inform strategic decisions. It uncovers truths about what drives consumer engagement with the brand and helps shape effective marketing strategies.

Brand vision

A brand vision is an aspirational statement outlining where the brand aims to be in the future. It guides long-term strategic planning and inspires stakeholders by articulating the desired impact or position of the brand in its market or community.

Brand persona

A brand persona represents the human-like traits attributed to the brand, including its voice, tone, and style. It's used to create consistent and relatable communications that resonate with target audiences.

Brand values

Brand values are the principles and beliefs that drive a company's actions and decision-making processes. They serve as ethical guidelines for behavior both internally among employees and externally in interactions with customers.

Brand manifesto

A brand manifesto is a compelling declaration of what a brand stands for, including its commitments and ideals. It often combines inspirational language with concrete examples to motivate both internal teams and external audiences.

Brand moments

Brand moments are specific interactions or experiences where consumers engage meaningfully with your brand. These moments can significantly influence perceptions and loyalty by creating lasting emotional connections.

Brand difference

Brand difference refers to what sets your brand apart from competitors—a combination of unique selling points (USPs), qualities, or attributes. Highlighting these differences helps attract target customers who value those distinctive aspects.

Tone

Descriptors

Descriptors are specific adjectives or phrases that define the personality and emotional quality of a brand's communication style. They provide guidance on how the brand should sound across all touchpoints to ensure a cohesive and recognizable voice.

Rules

Rules are guidelines that outline how to consistently apply the brand's tone in different contexts and scenarios. They help maintain uniformity in messaging by specifying dos and don'ts, language preferences, and stylistic nuances tailored to various communication channels.

Keywords

Keywords can be used positively to input specific words that should always be included in generated copy. Negative keywords can also be used to provide a list of specific words that should never be used when generating copy.

Examples

This gives you the option to upload examples of good copy that adheres to your brand tone requirements.

Logos

This section allows you to upload image files (.png or .jpg) of your logos, including as many variants as you need. These can be uploaded either with a background or as transparent assets.

Fonts

Here you are able to upload any approved brand fonts as .ttf or .otf files

Colors

This option allows you to add and name specific brand colors. Colors can be selected by HEX or RGB code or from a palette. You can also select specific opacities for colors.

Elements

Elements allows you to add brand-approved graphic elements that Pencil will use when generated your ads. They can be uploaded as .png, .jpg or .gif files.

Style references

  • Descriptors

    • This allows you to enter a text-based description of the visual style required for images generated during ad generation.

  • Image references

    • This allows you to upload style references of imagery that meets your brand requirements to help Pencil to generate imagery with strong fidelity to your brand. These can be uploaded as .png or .jpg files.

Sounds

Here you have the option to upload approved brand sounds to support generation of creatives. Sound and music will be accepted as either .mp3 or .wav files.

Skin

Skin allow you create a preset look and feel that will be used as guidelines when generating ads.

They are customisable, with options including:

  • logo;

  • text color and font;

  • button color and style;

  • default CTA

  • background color, gradient or image.

Documents

If you populate your library by uploading a brand book, it will be accessible here. You can also upload any other brand documentation that could be relevant to your brand strategy and rules as .pdf files.
