Duplicate Units error occur when a unit code appears more than once in the NAT 60 file.

The error Module/Unit of Competency identifier: Duplicate records exist within this file, or Only one record is permitted for Subject Identifier otherwise known as Duplicate Units occurs when you have more than one instance of a unit in your Tuple database if you deliver the same unit for multiple courses (for example, you deliver the same unit in both a Cert III and Cert IV qualification); however, only one instance of the unit should be reported in the NAT 60. Duplicate units occur in the NAT 60 if there is more than one instance of the unit and at least one of the following unit AVETMISS fields are not identical in each instance of the unit:

  • Unit Description

  • Supervised (Nominal) Hours

  • Unit Field of Education

  • Unit of Competency

  • Vet Flag

How To Fix

  1. Navigate to Tuple > Units

  2. Type in the Unit Code

  3. Click on code for the relevant instance of the Unit

  4. Click Edit

  5. Update the relevant field/s

  6. Click Save

  7. Repeat the above steps for any additional instances of the unit that need to be updated
