When a lease ends, the tenant is automatically moved to Past Tenants in TurboTenant. You can also manually archive a tenant if they’re no longer on a lease (or if they never moved in).
You can still view their information anytime: go to your Tenants tab and use the toggle/slider to switch from Active to Past/Archived tenants (as shown below). Finding, Restoring, and Adding Archived Tenants to Leases
Step 1: Click on the Tenants tab in your account.
Step 2: Click Past or Archived.
You can click a past or archived tenant’s name at any time to view their details. From their tenant profile, you can manage the following:
Lease information to make updates as needed
Add them to a new lease if they’re a current tenant again by clicking Add to a lease
View their Payment Method
View Renters Insurance
View their Emergency Contact
If you find the tenant in the Archived section, you can unarchive them by selecting their name, clicking the three vertical dots, and choosing Unarchive Tenant. Once they’re unarchived, select Add to Lease to assign them to a new or existing lease.
Add an Archived Tenant to a Lease
Step 1: Open the archived tenant’s profile and click Add to Lease.
Step 2: Follow the prompts to assign the tenant to a new or previous lease.
Step 3: Confirm the tenant’s status updates to Current, so you can manage their lease and payments normally.
If a tenant (and their associated lease) were archived by mistake, the steps above can restore both. Reactivating the tenant will also restore the lease connected to their profile so it’s available for active management.
