Signing up for Turno is completely free, but we may charge additional fees depending on how you connected with your cleaners. In order to explain the fees we charge, we must first describe the two ways a host and a cleaner can connect with one another, which we call Marketplace connections and external (Non-Marketplace) connections. This article gives an in-depth look on how each type of connection influences the fees you'll be paying as a host.
Connection types 🤝🏻
Turno offers two types of connection: through the marketplace, and outside of the marketplace (or non-marketplace connection, established with external cleaners).
A Marketplace connection is established when a host accepts a bid from a cleaner on their search. This means that you met the cleaner through Turno.
A Non-Marketplace connection, on the other hand, is established when a host and a cleaner connect through an invitation. This means that you met the cleaner outside of Turno, bringing in external cleaners to the platform.
Project fees 💳
For Marketplace connections with a cleaner, payments are required to go through Turno. We charge a fee for each payment made using credit card, and a discounted fee for payments made with ACH (currently, ACH is only available for US bank accounts). These fees are applicable to all manual payments, automatic payments for projects, tips and bonuses that you pay to marketplace cleaners.
On marketplace cleaners' side, the fee is always 5% of the payment amount, and depending on what US state they're located in, they may also be charged sales taxes.
For Non-Marketplace connections, payments through Turno are optional, but you can pay them through the app with automatic payments if you wish, or manual payments.
Automatic or not, payments for non-marketplace cleaners through Turno have a small fee for card payments (when located in the US and Canada), and a discounted fee if you use ACH bank debit (currently available for US bank accounts only). Non-Marketplace fees are only charged on the hosts' side. For both payment methods, the minimum fee amount is always $1.50 (USD). These fees are applicable to all manual payments, automatic payments for projects, tips and bonuses that you pay to non-marketplace cleaners.
Subscription fees 💸
Turno is free to use if you have only one property with non-marketplace cleaners. Billing is associated to properties, and not cleaners, which means you can have as many cleaners as you need on that one property and remain free. However, if you use these cleaners across multiple properties, you'll need a subscription to continue scheduling cleanings for all of them. We offer both monthly and annual subscription plans. Here are the prices for each option:
$10USD/month per property on the monthly plan
20% discount on the monthly price, so $8USD/month per property ($8USD x 12 months = $96USD per property, charged once a year)
