Tips for Marketplace Profile Bios

How to write a good bio as a cleaner

Written by Isa

When you apply to join Turno's marketplace, you are required to add a short bio to your profile. This is important for both Turno to review your application and for your potential customers. Potential customers will be able to see your profile after your application is approved when you place bids on their offers.

Start with a strong headline

The first 3 lines of your bio are your headline. It's what a host sees the moment your bid lands, before your reviews, before anything else. Cleaners with a strong headline win about 70% more bids than cleaners without one.

Write your bio in 3 steps

  1. Lead with what you are + a real number. "Airbnb turnover specialist. 14 properties, 600+ turnovers."

  2. Name 3 real things you do on a turn. Skip words like "reliable" and "detail-oriented," every cleaner says that. Name the actual task instead. "Beds & baths staged photo-ready. Offsite linen services available. Hot tub cleaning. Inventory documented. Damage checked and photographed. Light maintenance tasks."

  3. Close with your availability. "Same-day and back-to-back turns, 7 days a week."

See it in action

Before:

Reliable and detail-oriented cleaner with experience cleaning short-term rentals. I take pride in great results and creating a welcoming space for guests. 12 years of experience.

After:

Airbnb turnover specialist. 14 properties, 600+ turnovers over 12 years. Every turn: linens laundered same-day, beds staged photo-ready, damage checked and photographed. Same-day and back-to-back turns, 7 days a week.

Same person. Same facts. Nothing invented, just said plainly.

More ideas

  • Be specific about communication: Instead of saying you're a great communicator, say what you do, like sending photos after every turn or flagging low supplies.

  • Show how you go the extra mile: Mention concrete extras, such as eco-friendly products, restocking, or light maintenance.

  • Keep it honest: Only include numbers, services, and availability you can actually deliver.

  • Use your own words: Original content is essential, so don't copy bios from the Internet.

  • Pro tip: A photo is worth a thousand words. Make sure your profile photo is professional and friendly.

Note: Your bio cannot be longer than 1,000 characters.

Editing your bio

⚠️ After you're accepted into Turno's marketplace, it's possible to edit your marketplace bio on your Marketplace Profile page, under the Update Profile option:

You'll be taken to the Profile tab of your Account Settings, where you'll be able to edit your bio and request the changes:

Our team will review the new bio, and if everything is in order, it will be approved and shown on your profile!

Remember not to include personal information (such as your business name, email, phone number, or location) in your bio. Share this information with customers only after your bid is accepted. Providing it beforehand breaks our rules and might affect your access to the marketplace.
