How to Create Digitally Signed Certificates with Twala

Nowadays, issuing certificates electronically is more common than ever — but how can you guarantee that these documents are authentic and tamper-proof? Twala makes it easy to create digitally signed, verifiable certificates that protect your document’s integrity.

Steps to Create a Digitally Signed Certificate

1. Go to "Prepare Document"

Click on Prepare Document from your Twala dashboard to start the process.

It is important to note that only one certificate can be uploaded at a time to ensure that only the certificate recipient will get a copy of the digitally signed certificate.

2. Upload the Certificate File

Upload one certificate file at a time to ensure that each recipient receives their own unique copy.

3. Assign Signers

In the “Who needs to sign?” field, enter the name and email address of the signers who need to digitally sign the certificate.

4. Add Certificate Recipient

Under “Who needs to participate in this document?” input the name and email address of the certificate recipient the person who will receive the final, signed certificate.

5. Prepare the Document

Click Prepare Document to start placing signature fields, dates, or other information on the certificate.

  • Make sure you assign each field to the correct signer.

6. Submit for Signing

Once you're done formatting, click Submit to send the certificate for signing.

7. Repeat the Process

Repeat these steps if you need to issue certificates to multiple recipients — one file at a time.

Important Reminders

One Certificate per Upload: Twala processes one certificate at a time to ensure that each recipient receives only their own document.

Automatic Delivery: Once all signers have completed the signing process, the certificate will be automatically delivered to the recipient’s email.
