How to prepare a "via PKI Certificate document" on Twala Sign?

Before diving into preparing via PKI Certificate, ensure to do the following:

  1. A valid PKI certificate is already uploaded in your Twala Sign account. If you haven’t uploaded your PKI certificate yet, please follow the steps provided in this link

  2. The PKI certificate should not be expired.

Steps to prepare a via PKI document:

1.  Navigate to the Twala Sign documents page.

2. Click the prepare document under the headers.

3. Select "via PKI Certificate" as the level of compliance of the document.

4. Upload the document/s or file/s which were needed to be signed.

NOTE: Uploading multiple documents will merge these documents into one.

5. Add and select the participants and their roles.

NOTE: Participants could only have one role which is either a signatory or a recipient, following that adding approvers on via PKI document is not supported yet. In addition, document is workflow is enabled upon selecting via PKI Certificate and will not be disabled.

6.  Click "Prepare Document."

7. Then, the author will be redirected to the web viewer page. Here, the author will be adding the signatory fields.

NOTE: Unlike documents with other compliance (e.g. via Email and via Twala Sign), via PKI certificate only allows adding of signature fields within the document.

8. Click Send.

To dive deeper with via PKI Certificate document/via PKI document, here are some others behaviors of via PKI document which may differ with documents of other compliance. Via PKI documents does not have an audit trail appended to the document after completion, however, it could viewed on the sidebar by clicking the document's more button and clicking "Inspect Audit Trail". Moreover, via PKI document is set to only allow serial signing which introduces hierarchy within signatories designed to follow an order set by the author before they could sign the document. Subsequently, it also prohibits parallel signing, whereas users of the can sign the document without any order.
