Using Housing Voucher or Assistance Programs

If you are applying for an apartment using a housing voucher, stipend, or special rental assistance program, follow the steps below to ensure your application is reviewed correctly.

Section 8 Housing Voucher

If you are a Section 8 voucher holder:

  1. Select the “Affordable/voucher programs(e.g. Section 8)” as your source of income in the Two Dots app.

  1. Upload your voucher document to your application.

  2. Once submitted, your property management team will review your voucher directly.

Housing-Related Stipends

If you receive a School Housing Stipend or Military Housing Stipend:

  • Upload your stipend document to your application in the Two Dots app.

  • The property management team will review and determine eligibility.

Special Programs (Leasing Bonds / Guarantors Programs)

If you are part of a rental bond or guarantor program, such as:

  • The Guarantors Program (theguarantors.com)

  • Liberty Mutual Rent Program

What should you do:

  1. Upload the program document to your Two Dots application.

  2. Contact your leasing agent to confirm whether your property accepts this program.

Other Income Sources

If you have additional income sources, such as:

  • Paystubs

  • Bank statements or bank link

  • Tax transcripts

Please upload these documents in the Two Dots app. Two Dots will verify these income sources and include them in your application review.

Other Verification Process

Once you complete your:

  • ID verification

  • SSN verification

  • Credit, Criminal and Eviction Screening (if applicable)

Two Dots will send the verified results to the apartment complex. Please note that the final decision always rests with the property management team.

What if I accidentally selected “Affordable/voucher programs(e.g. Section 8)” but don’t actually have one?

You can unselect the Housing Voucher option in the Two Dots app. If you need your income verified again, please contact your leasing agent or email applicant.support@twodots.net for assistance.

Do I need to verify my voucher or stipend myself?

No. You only need to upload the document. The property management team will handle the verification and make the final decision.

Can I still upload paystubs or bank statements even if I have a housing voucher?

Yes. If you have other sources of income, please upload them. They can be verified as additional income to support your application.

How long will it take for my application to be reviewed?

Processing times may vary depending on your property management’s review schedule. Two Dots will notify them once your ID, SSN, and documents are verified.
