The set (or the background and foreground) of your video is important as people will be looking at this as much as they’ll be looking at you. How this looks can have a big impact on the quality of your end video!
Our tips
Avoid filming against a blank wall - that's boring!
Make your set relevant to your lesson topic and interesting (without being distracting)
Make sure your set is clean, tidy and free of mess or items not relevant to the lesson (as much as possible)
If relevant, use props that are appropriate to the lesson content
Check any props are clean, polished, free of dust/marks and in the best possible condition. Be especially aware of glassware, stainless steel items, labels on bottles (that can be ripped or untidy) and food items (e.g. mouldy or bruised fruit)
Here are a couple of our past set and prop mistakes - we're sharing so that you can avoid making the same ones!

We don’t like:
The dirty cocktail shaker
EXAMPLE 2:
We don’t like:
There is a lot of mess in the background here. Unnecessary boxes, empty bottles and stainless steel jugs in the background
