What’s a Quest?
A quest is a self-contained game experience consisting of a series of tasks.
Create a New Quest
Click on the + Quest button on the top-right of the Content page to create a new quest from scratch, or use the duplicate function to make a copy of an existing quest.
Edit a Quest
Once you create a new quest, you should be automatically taken to the quest-editing pages. You can also leave and return to your quest by clicking the quest in the list of quests.
Map Setup
Select a map from the Tyto library as the base setting of your quest. It should already have some setdressing fitting the environment.
If you would like additional objects that persist throughout the quest, you could go to the scene editor in the Objects section, and import objects there.
Quest Information
Basic Quest Information
Quest name and description will be available for the player to see. Make sure not to put spoilers in the description!
Quest Flow
You can design your quest flow in the quest flow canvas, by adding and connecting multiple tasks. Make sure to connect “Start” and “End” as well.
Add a task to canvas: click on a mechanic (task type) in the left-side panel
Move a task around in the canvas: drag the task
Move multiple tasks at once: Shift + drag to select multiple tasks
Remove a task: select it and hit the backspace/delete button
Make task A flow into task B: drag from the bottom node of task A to the top node of task B
Define details of a task: double-click on the task’s icon, or go to the “Task Definition” tab and select the task you want to define
Task Definition
The “Task Definition” tab is where you would define details of each task. Navigate to different tasks in the Quest Mechanic section of the Knowledgebase.
Preview a Quest
After making some tasks, you will probably want to see what it looks like in the game. Just hit the Preview button on the top-right of the quest editing pages, then the game will open in another tab.
The preview will not reflect changes made after its opening. Open a new preview for updates.
Share a Quest Preview Privately
If you would like feedback on your in-process quest, you could hit the Private Share button on top of the game preview, and get a link to share it within your organization.
Publish a Quest
Once you are happy with your quest, you can find Save and Publish in the save dropdown on quest editing pages.
After confirming publishing, you would get a link to share it with anyone. You can also find the link in the list of quests in the Content page.
