πŸƒ Casual sign up

The Casual sign up template is the best fit for most weekly leagues. Players check in on event day and create their own cards β€” no pre-registration required. You can set up a flex or shotgun start, and the template supports recurrence so you can schedule an entire season at once. Handicap scoring is also available.

Choose this if you run a casual weekly where players show up and play without signing up in advance. See Creating a flex start event for more on start formats.

πŸ“‹ Formal sign up

The Formal sign up template is built for leagues that need to know attendance before event day. You can set attendance caps, assign tee times or cards, and let players select their own groupings during registration. Like Casual, it supports recurrence and handicap scoring.

Choose this if you need players to commit in advance or want to control card assignments. See How to set up registration for your league or event for setup details.

πŸ“… Casual multi-day round

The Casual multi-day round template is designed for events that span more than one day, where players can check in and play anytime during the window. All scores roll into a single combined leaderboard. It supports handicap scoring but does not support recurrence.

Choose this if you're running a weekend or week-long event with one combined leaderboard.

βš™οΈ Advanced event

The Advanced event template is for tournaments that need multiple rounds, multiple pools, or different divisions playing different layouts. It gives you detailed card and round management tools and supports pre-registration. It does not support recurrence or handicap scoring.

Choose this if you're running a tournament with multiple rounds or need different divisions on different layouts.

Important: If your league uses handicap scoring, avoid Advanced events. Once converted to Advanced, you cannot use handicaps or convert back to a Single Round event.

See How to set up rounds and How to use pools for setup details.

πŸ”„ Can I change templates?

  • Single Round β†’ Advanced: βœ… Yes β€” but this is permanent and cannot be undone.

  • Advanced β†’ Single Round: ❌ No β€” create a new event instead.

  • Casual β†’ Formal or Multi-day: βœ… Yes β€” add pre-registration or extend the event window in settings.

  • Formal β†’ Casual or Multi-day: ❌ No β€” pre-registration can't be removed once enabled.

See How to convert to an Advanced event for step-by-step instructions.
