Quick Answer
Use the Casual sign up template when creating your event for automatic flex start setup. For a full-week (or multi-day) event, use the Casual multi-day round template β it prompts you for a start and end date, supporting event windows up to 14 days. Or manually configure any event by setting Start format to "Flex start" and Who can create cards? to "Players and event admins" in Event Tools β Scoring tab. This allows players to arrive and play anytime.

β Common Questions
Q: Can I still create cards as admin in a flex start event? A: Yes! Admins can always create cards from the Cards tab, even when players can create their own.
Q: Players can't check in to my flex start event. What do I do? A: Check Event Tools β Scoring tab and make sure Who can create cards? is set to "Players and event admins" (not "Just event admin"). Players can only check in and create cards when this setting allows player card creation.
Q: What's the difference between flex start and shotgun/tee times? A: Flex start = players arrive and start whenever. Shotgun = all cards start at once. Tee times = scheduled start times. Learn more
Q: Can players join existing cards? A: Yes! When creating a card, players can see and join existing cards that haven't started yet.
Q: Do I need to enable check-in? A: Check-in is automatically enabled when you allow players to create cards.
Q: Can I run a flex start event for a full week? A: Yes! When creating your event, select the Casual multi-day round template. It lets you set a start and end date up to 14 days apart, so players can play any time during that window. It has all the same settings as other templates (start format, card creation, divisions).
