Good communication is the foundation of a successful mentorship.
The more openly you share your goals, preferences, and challenges, the better your mentor can tailor lessons and guidance to your needs.

1. Before Your First Session

  • Introduce Yourself – Share your background, current skill level, and why you joined UNI Learn.

  • State Your Goals – Be specific (e.g., “Improve my business presentation skills within 3 months” instead of “Improve my English”).

  • Discuss Availability – Confirm preferred days and times, and clarify time zone differences.

  • Agree on the Session Language – Make sure both you and your mentor are comfortable with the chosen language.

2. During Sessions

  • Ask Questions – If something isn’t clear, ask immediately.

  • Give Feedback in Real Time – Let your mentor know if the pace is too fast or too slow.

  • Stay Engaged – Share examples from your work, life, or projects so lessons feel relevant.

3. Between Sessions

  • Update Your Mentor – Share progress, challenges, or any changes in your goals.

  • Respond Promptly – Reply to mentor messages in a timely manner so lesson planning stays on track.

  • Share Materials – If working on a project, upload drafts or resources for feedback before the next session.

4. When Challenges Arise

  • Be Honest – If you’re struggling, say so early. Mentors can adjust methods or give extra support.

  • Clarify Expectations – Misunderstandings are easier to fix when addressed quickly.

💡 Tip: Good communication is a two-way street — your mentor can guide you, but you set the direction by sharing openly and consistently.
