1. Set Clear Goals Together

  • Work with your learner to define short-term and long-term goals.

  • Make sure goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART).

  • Revisit and adjust goals regularly to keep them aligned with progress.

2. Celebrate Small Wins

  • Acknowledge even minor achievements—they build momentum.

  • Use positive reinforcement to highlight progress.

  • Encourage learners to record their milestones in their Learning Project.

3. Provide Regular Feedback

  • Give feedback that is specific and actionable.

  • Balance constructive suggestions with encouragement.

  • Tie feedback to their personal goals to keep it meaningful.

4. Keep Learning Relevant

  • Connect lessons to the learner’s real-life interests or challenges.

  • Use examples and activities that feel meaningful to them.

  • Encourage them to bring personal projects or questions into sessions.

5. Support Resilience

  • Remind learners that progress isn’t always linear—setbacks are part of the process.

  • Share strategies for overcoming challenges and staying consistent.

  • Encourage reflection on how far they’ve come, not just how far they have to go.

💡 Tip: A motivated learner is an active learner—your role is to keep the spark alive, even when progress feels slow.
