When integrating Shopify with Unleashed, you may encounter issues related to product remapping, SKU management, and synchronisation. The 'Remap Product Code' function re-establishes the connection between your Unleashed product SKUs and their corresponding products in Shopify. This feature is essential when products become disconnected or misaligned between the two systems, which can cause inventory sync errors or order import failures.
Why would a product need remapping?
Use the Remap Product Code function to resolve:
Duplicate SKUs: When multiple products in Shopify share the same SKU, causing mapping conflicts.
Missing SKUs: When a product variant in Shopify lacks a SKU, preventing mapping and order imports.
Obsoleted SKUs: When a SKU is flagged as obsolete in Unleashed, blocking synchronization.
Order import errors: When orders from Shopify fail to import due to product mapping issues.
Inventory sync problems: When stock levels aren't updating correctly between systems.
Incorrect product on imported order: When an order in Unleashed contains the wrong product due to incorrect SKU mapping during the initial import.
Remapping ensures your inventory data flows accurately between systems, preventing overselling and maintaining reliable stock information across all sales channels.
How to Remap a Product Code
During this process, it is essential to use the Unleashed product code rather than Shopify product codes, as remapping is managed from Unleashed's side. Shopify product codes cannot be directly mapped.
Navigate to eCommerce Hub > Shopify > Manage your Products tab.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the Remap Product by Code section.
Enter your product's SKU/code in the Product Code field.
Click Remap Product.
In the confirmation pop-up, select Yes to proceed.
At the top of the Manage Your Products tab, search for the product.
Ensure the product is ticked against your Shopify store.
At the bottom of the page, click Save Configuration to apply changes.
Next steps
After remapping, check the Connection Log tab to confirm the process worked correctly. Look for these two DEBUG messages:
"Mapped 1 products" - Confirms the product has been successfully mapped to Shopify.
"Remap Shopify Product '[ProductCode/SKU]' for [ShopifyStore] is completed" - Confirms the specific product is now linked to your Shopify store.
Once remapping is complete:
Re-attempt importing any failed orders via the "Manage Your Data" tab.
The product's availability and inventory levels will resume normal inventory synchronisation.

Best Practices
To avoid similar issues in the future:
Regularly review and update SKU mappings between Shopify and Unleashed.
Ensure that any changes to Shopify products are reflected in Unleashed.
Avoid archiving orders in Shopify that may need to be imported later.
Resolving orders that cannot be remapped
If remapping does not resolve the issue of orders failing to import, consider the following steps:
Editable orders: If the order is not yet completed, invoiced, or shipped, manually update the product to the correct one.
Non-editable orders: Delete the order and create a new one manually using the correct product.
Archived or old orders: Manually create the order in Unleashed using the "Import Sales Order" template and reference the Shopify Order Number.
