How to communicate with employees

Message employees through ADA Assist about their request

Written by Cynthia M

There are several different ways to initiate a message with an employee after they have submitted an ADA request. If you have never sent or received a message from the employee within the ADA Assist platform, you may initiate a conversation by clicking on "Records" or "Pending Decisions" to access the message center.

To Initiate a Message through the Records Tab

Step 1: Click "Records" in the left side navigation panel.

Step 2: Search for the employee by name in the search box and/or find the employee name in the list view.

Step 3: Click the eye icon under the "Review" category.

Step 4: Click the eye icon under the "Actions" category.

Step 5: Click the dropdown arrow for the "Initial Submission".

Step 6: Scroll to the bottom of the submission request and click "Messages" in the bottom left corner.

Step 7: Type the desired message under "New Message" and click "Send Message".

To Initiate a Message through the Pending Decisions Tab

Step 1: Click "Pending Decisions" in the left side navigation panel.

Step 2: Search for the employee by name in the search box and/or find the employee's name in the list view.

Step 3: Click the paper icon in the far right next to "Review".

Step 4: Scroll to the bottom of the submission request and click "Messages" in the bottom left corner.

Step 5: Type the desired message under "New Message" and click "Send Message".

To Access Existing or Active Employee Messages

If you have already messaged the employee or received a message through the ADA Assist platform, you can continue your communication through "Messages" found under the "Tasks" tab.

Search for the employee by name in the search box and/or find the employee's name in the list view.

Click into the desired employee's message (highlighted example below) under the "Message" category.

Here you can review chat history and/or type a new message. Click "Send Message" to send the newly typed message to the employee.

If the conversation chain is complete with a specific employee, click the box under "Mark as Complete" to remove the message from the "Messages" tab.
