You can create two types of communities in UpBeing: A public community is open to the general public and can be found by searching for it in UpBeing. Public communities are great for big, dynamic groups like cities, universities, hobbies, sports fans (i.e. Toronto Maple Leafs Fans) or groups based on a shared feature or interest.

A private community cannot be found by searching for it in UpBeing. In order to join a private community, you must be provided with a specific code or an invite from a current community member. These are great for more specific groups like workplaces, teams, and support groups.

How to create an UpBeing Community:

  1. Fill out the UpBeing Community Request Form. Be sure to let us know if you would like your community to be public or private.

  2. Hang tight! Your community request should be processed within 24 hours.

  3. Think of communities like a Messaging, Facebook or Reddit group, you do not need permission from administrators or your organization in order to create a community.

Tip: Check if the community you're looking for already exists in the UpBeing app. Especially for bigger, public communities, it's possible that the community you're looking for already exists - then, all you have to do is join.
