Close friends are important – but research shows that building networks of casual acquaintances can boost happiness, knowledge and a sense of belonging. In terms of career advancement, a vast majority of individuals got their jobs from these "weak-tie" relationships. Not only do these casual relationships bode well for out careers, they are also good for our mental health and social life. Fostering these relations holds a plethora of benefits.
