Drifting Forward (Hitting)

What it is:

Weight shifts too far forward during rotation.

Why it matters:

Loses stability, makes swing timing inconsistent, reduces ability to adjust to pitch location.

Good mechanics in this phase look like:

Weight stays balanced between legs, back side engaged through rotation

How to address it:

  • Drills: Stride & hold, controlled forward move, balance beam drill.

  • Cues: “Stay back and rotate,” “Anchor your back hip.”
