New Year at Westminster Bridge

Information on our New Year's Celebrations for Westminster Bridge residents

Updated over a week ago

What's happening this New Year at Westminster Bridge?

On 31/12/23 the Mayor of London will start the countdown to 2024, then a huge fireworks display will light up the skies along the Thames at the strike of midnight. This means that the balcony and common room from urbanest Westminster Bridge offer enviable views... so... we're having a party!

Applications for tickets commence on 12 December 2023.

What's the application process?

Ticketing opens at 10am on 12 December 2023.

Residents of Westminster Bridge who want to come, should try and get one of the limited tickets as follows:

  1. Log on to their urbanest portal

  2. On the popup window, access the link to the eventbrite page

  3. Enter the password 'Fireworks'

  4. Click 'Reserve a spot' on the right hand side

  5. Complete the registration process

You will need your Booking ID and contact details for your guest (if you are bringing one to the common room).

Tickets are very limited, and are strictly available on a first-come, first-served basis.

What ticket types are there?

The first lucky registrants will get automatic access to the outside balcony, and will be asked to collect an Orange wristband from reception closer to the date.

After the balcony tickets are sold out, the next available tickets are for common room access only, and will be asked to collect a Green wristband from reception closer to the date.

Who can attend?

Everyone with a confirmed ticket and respective wristband can attend.

Anyone without a wristband, a ticket and matching ID will be unfortunately denied access to the 18th floor common room on 31/12/23.

Why can't everyone attend?

Due to the capacity limitations, we are only allowed a certain number of students onto the balcony and into the common room at one time.

If we were to permit everyone to attend, it would be unsafe.

Can I bring a guest?

Yes, and no.

To prioritise you, our customers, tickets for balcony access are restricted to residents only. You are allowed to book 1 x balcony access ticket, if available.

We understand that a small number of you would like to bring a guest along, so we have made a number of common room only access tickets available for guests.

If you want to bring a guest to the common room, you must select two tickets and you must complete your guest's name, e-mail address and phone number during checkout. For fairness to our residents, only a small number of guest tickets are available - and these are first-come, first-served.

Please note that if you have balcony access and you bring a guest, you will be separated from them for the fireworks if you go outside.

For your safety, we will have security in place on the evening to ensure that the maximum capacity on the balcony is not exceeded.

If you bring a guest and they do not have a ticket, they will not be permitted access.

What do I do if I don't get a place?

As above, places are limited. If you are not successful in getting a place, there are a host of activities to enjoy in London. Check out this handy guide for some suggestions.

What do I do on the evening if I do have a place?

From 9pm on 31/12/23, those with a confirmed place are permitted to enter the common room after our door staff have verified tickets, ID and wristband.

Snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own drinks. Please note that if you have balcony access, glass bottles/drinks containers are not allowed outside.
