How do we ensure safety and security at urbanest

Updated over 9 months ago

At urbanest, the safety and security of our residents is of the utmost importance. We have implemented various measures to uphold a safe and secure environment. Our electronic key system ensures that rooms can be securely locked, with access granted only to those in possession of the key. Additionally, we have 24-hour CCTV surveillance and a dedicated site team at each of our properties, providing peace of mind for all.

Please see some commonly asked questions below for more detail on our safety and security.

How safe is the electronic key system used on urbanest doors?

All urbanest properties are equipped with 24hr security to ensure safety to all residents. Each room has an electronic swipe fob entry/locking system to ensure rooms can be fully locked and all belongings are safe.

Each key is specifically programmed to each of our residents. This will only allow access to your room and the communal areas (Meaning you cannot access the corridors of other residents).

For times when you do not want to be interrupted, there is a deadbolt on every room door that can be locked from the inside.

Whilst urbanest have their own key to provide access in an emergency, every use of this is automatically logged to give you peace of mind.

When are the urbanest team on-site?

We have team members onsite 24/7 to help keep you safe and answer any questions you may have. The site team control entrance into the property mainiting control off who comes and leaves.

What happens if a key is lost?

If you lose your key fob, please let the team at reception know immediately or, if you’re currently away, please e-mail support@urbanest.com. We can then cancel your key fob and issue you a new one, there will not be a charge.

As soon as you use your new key fob the old key fob will stop working, so it’s very important you notify us as quickly as possible.

Can we give out guest keys for my friend/ family member?

Except in exceptional circumstances we are unable to provide keys for friends or family members. If it is an emergency, please contact the team at reception who will be happy to help.

Can people stay over in university accommodation?

We do permit guests for our residents, but reserve the right to limit numbers for the wellbeing and safety of all residents. Please read out guest policy for more details on this.

We thank all our residents for their support in keeping everyone safe.
