A Breakdown of the Metrics Dashboard Use Case

This article will overview the Metrics Dashboard Use Case. We will review the standard features, how best to use the tool, and when or why you would use the tool. As with every Use Case in the UrbanLogiq platform, you can click the About this Use Case button to get an overview of the functions and data sets in the Use Case.


The Metrics Dashboard lets you see and monitor mobility metrics to understand how mobility patterns change over time. We compare metric values to earlier periods and observe historical trends.

The Metrics Dashboard is broken into two tabs—Key insights & Advanced.

Key Insights

In the Key Insights tab, we will display a snapshot view across a wide set of mobility metrics. Each metric is shown as a card on the right-hand side of the screen.

In each card, there are three values:

  • Metric value of the target time period.

  • The metric value for the reference time period (must be no later than the target time period)

  • Change in metric value occurred between the reference period and the target period; the reference period is used as the base for the change calculation.

We can adjust the selection for the target time period and the reference period by using the dropdown menus in the side panel on the left-hand side of the screen.

Advanced

This tab displays historical trends for a set of mobility metrics. Each metric is again shown as a card on the right-hand side of the screen. You can hover your mouse on the charts to see the exact values for a specific time.

To adjust the length of the time period shown on the charts, use the dropdown menu in the side panel on the left.
