Creating Classifiers
Access the Account Settings menu by clicking your initials in the top-right corner of the screen and selecting Account from the dropdown.
Click the Classifiers tab, select Add New, then enter a name for your classifier.
Click Edit, then add values (e.g., "Computer Software", "IT", "Manufacturing")—these will appear in dropdowns when filtering assets.
TIP: Classifiers require at least one value to function properly.
Click Save.
Adding Classifiers to Assets
There are two ways to add classifiers to assets:
Manual
Create or edit an asset.
Select values from each relevant classifier.
During Import
Refer to How to Upload Testimonials for instructions on bulk uploading testimonials from a spreadsheet to UserEvidence.
Add columns to the template with classifier names as headers.
Enter one or more classifier values in each cell, separated by commas.
During mapping, select the classifier name and choose Custom Field as the template field, then complete the import process.
Adding Classifiers to Surveys
Use classifiers as survey questions to automatically categorize responses and generated assets based on how respondents answer.
Drag and drop the Classifier question type into your survey
Select a classifier — its values will populate the answer choices automatically
TIP: You cannot change classifier values within the survey editor.
Write the survey question text.
Attribution and Fixed Questions for Assets
UserEvidence uses Clearbit to enrich anonymous quotes with details like industry and company size. You can replace these defaults by mapping your own custom classifiers to each attribution field.
Remove Fixed Clearbit Questions
In the survey builder, click Introduction below your survey titles to access the fixed Clearbit questions.
Uncheck the box next to any question you’d like to disable.
Assign Classifiers for Attribution
Return to the Classifiers tab in the Account Settings menu.
Under Classifier Attributions, assign classifiers for:
Industry
Company Size
TIP: If no classifier attribution is selected, Clearbit data will be used.
