What is a Persona and why is it important?

A Persona represents your ideal customer or lead. Defining personas is crucial because they directly influence the quality and relevance of the copy generated in Twain. Detailed personas make your messages more personalized and effective.

How do I add a Persona?

You can add a Persona through the initial onboarding by providing your company website. You can either manually describe your target customer or let Twain automatically extract relevant information from your website to create the Persona.

Alternatively, you can add a Persona via document import (Playbooks, Client onboarding materials, Other free-text documents).

A persona can then be viewed and edited directly within the Twain editor. You can also create new personas in the editor, either manually or automatically.

Which fields should I fill in for a Persona?

When creating a Persona, Twain will automatically prefill these fields, but it’s important to review and refine them to ensure accuracy and relevance. The key fields for each Persona are:

  • Pain Points: The main challenges your target customer faces.

  • Cost of Inaction: What your ICP risks losing by not addressing these challenges.

  • Solutions: How your product or service solves their problems.

  • Objections: Typical concerns or hesitations your ICP may have.

  • Competitive Advantage: What makes your solution unique compared to alternatives.

  • Social Proof: Case studies, results, or testimonials that build credibility.

Tip: Carefully review each prefilled field and refine the details as needed. Taking the time to ensure accuracy and relevance will make your generated messages much more effective and personalized.

Can I view a persona I created for a new product outside of the editor? I want to share it with my team.

Currently, the persona can only be viewed and edited within the Twain editor. While you can’t view them elsewhere directly, you can invite team members to access the editor so they can review and collaborate on campaigns and personas.

Can I organize personas and campaigns for different products more clearly?

Yes! You can create separate workspaces for each product type. This is especially useful as the number of personas and campaigns grows, helping you avoid confusion and keeping campaigns organized.
