The Alberta spatial information system (Spin 2) can be used as a secondary mapping reference to search by lot/block/plan numbers, which is currently not possible on our website.
The Alberta spatial information system (Spin 2) can be found here: https://alta.registries.gov.ab.ca/spinii/logon.aspx
Below are instructions on how to search a lot, block, and plan and acquire GPS coordinates that can be searched on our website:
First, select the “Guest Login” to access the full website:
Next, select the “Search” option at the top of the page:
From the new page that loads, select “Titles and Registered Documents”:
Next, select "Plan/Block or Unit/Lot":
You will then be able to enter your Plan, Block, and Lot number. Once you have searched for the Plan, Block, & Lot, the system will load any matches for the information entered. Below the "View" header, click the globe button to open the Lot, Block, and Plan on the Spin2 map:
This will open a new tab with the location searched highlighted on a map:
From here, you can click “Toggle Coordinates” at the bottom of the map:
Once clicked, “Toggle Coordinates” will change the mouse cursor’s shown GPS location in Degree Coordinates on the lower-right corner of the map:
These coordinates can then be converted to decimal format to bring up the location on our system. The following website can be used for GPS conversions:
https://www.fcc.gov/media/radio/dms-decimal
Once converted, the latitude and longitude coordinates (51.112294,-112.990481) would then be entered under the Coordinate Search to load the area on our map:
