What If I Don't Want to Upgrade to V1 COACH?

We know V1 PRO Mobile has been with you for a long time now. It's probably well integrated into your process and there is comfort in knowing where all the buttons are and what they do.

The tough truth is that the V1 PRO Mobile app was built on outdated infrastructure, so much so that there was no possibility of fixing the current app to bring it to current standards and to meet and exceed the expectations of our users.

Over the past few years, we have been upgrading our entire infrastructure piece by piece. First was stabilizing the backend, then we released the new athlete apps V1 GOLF and V1 BASEBALL, and now we've finally released V1 COACH.

We were conscious about our decision to allow coaches to use V1 PRO Mobile and V1 COACH at the same time. Some software companies would have chosen the easier path, which is to force all users over to the new product at once. We didn't choose this path because we know and respect how integrated this product is with your business and passion.

If you don't want to upgrade to V1 COACH today, that's ok. You will be allowed to continue using V1 PRO Mobile for the foreseeable future.

There will be a point in time where we will discontinue V1 PRO Mobile, but it won't be until you've had ample time to get to know the new product.

What we would encourage you to do is be open minded and still have the initial callwith our customer success team about your new opportunities on the V1 COACH app. We'll also any questions you have about your data and how it'll migrate on a one-on-one basis.

What we've found in our user testing is that even our most loyal V1 PRO Mobile users are delighted with the new V1 COACH product, and once they've had a few days of learning to use it, they've told us they're not going back.

Here are some of the reasons they've shared why:

  1. The usability of the app is significantly improved. There are less clicks to get to where you need, and buttons are better placed for your coaching flow. Famously, a tester told us "It's so easy a 10 year old could do it".

  2. Their app now matches their athlete's V1 GOLF or V1 BASBALL app. When they're showing their athlete the V1 COACH app during a session, it is familiar to them.
    ​

  3. The unique opportunities to brand different points in the athlete's flow have excited a lot of coaches who care deeply about providing a customized, branded experience.
    ​

  4. Using Chat in app to communicate with athletes in their app is a much needed feature. Our testers have commented that they love that the Chat feature prevents messages from getting lost in email or text message threads.

  5. Unlocking the custom Store for athletes is something many of our testers jumped at. They've all set up their Store's slightly differently, pointing to how customizable this is. Some are selling retail items from their Pro Shops, online or in person lesson packages, and/or booking in person lessons or hitting bay rentals using the new Store in V1 COACH.

Again, we understand that there will be some learning required as you start using V1 COACH, and today might not be the right time for you.
