Autohost Screening

Updated over a month ago

This outlines how to use Autohost to screen Airbnb guests for potential risks before confirming their reservation. The screening includes identity verification, background checks, and fraud risk assessment.

Why this Matters

Using Autohost helps reduce the risk of problematic guests, property damage, fraud, and chargebacks. A thorough guest screening process ensures safety, protects the property, and helps maintain Airbnb Superhost status and guest trust.

What You Need

  • Access to Autohost platform

  • A confirmed Airbnb reservation that needs screening

  • Training on how to interpret Autohost risk flags

  • Knowledge of when to approve, escalate, or decline a reservation

Steps

1. Log in to Autohost

Go to the Autohost Screening Portal:

Use your host credentials to sign in.

2. Locate the Guest's Reservation

  • Use the guest’s Airbnb reservation ID or guest name to find their screening profile.

  • Click into their profile for full screening details.

3. Review Risk Flags and Screening Results

Autohost analyzes:

  • ID verification

  • Background checks (IP address, phone, email, etc.)

  • Payment behavior

  • History of suspicious activity

Risk Levels:

  • 🟒 Low Risk – Approved automatically

  • 🟑 Medium Risk – Manual review required

  • πŸ”΄ High Risk – Flag for management review

4. Make a Decision

Based on the screening result:

  • βœ… Approve the reservation if low risk or verified guest

  • ⚠️ Escalate to management (Carstin or Daffi) if medium/high risk

  • ❌ Decline the reservation only after receiving management approval

Note: Never approve high-risk guests without senior review.

5. Communicate With the Guest (If Needed)

If additional documents or actions are required:

  • Politely request any missing verification (ID, payment method, etc.)

  • Wait for the guest to comply before confirming the reservation

6. Log the Decision

  • Update the internal tracking sheet or CRM system

  • Note the decision (approved, declined, escalated) and why

  • Include a link to the Autohost profile for future reference
