How to Add an Internal Name to an Air Bnb Listing

Updated over a month ago

This outlines how to add an internal name to your Airbnb listing, making it easier for your team to identify and manage listings internally without changing how the listing appears to guests.

Why This Matters

Airbnb listings often have similar or identical guest-facing names (e.g., “Cozy Downtown Studio”), making it difficult to distinguish them in the dashboard. Adding an internal name improves clarity for internal tracking, task assignment, and team communication.

What You Need

  • Access to the Airbnb host account

  • Admin or co-host permissions to edit listing settings

  • A naming convention (e.g., "61 McDonald - Upper Unit") ready to apply

Steps

  1. Log in to Airbnb
Go to www.airbnb.com and sign in using your host credentials.

  2. Navigate to Listings
Click on your profile icon (top right), then go to “Listings.”

  3. Select the Listing
Click on the listing you want to edit.

  4. Click “Listing Details” or “Title & Description”
Depending on Airbnb's layout update, look for the section that allows you to manage your internal name (this is not the guest-facing title).

  5. Enter the Internal Name
Add a name that clearly identifies the unit (e.g., “Garrow - Basement Suite” or “Mintern Lower”).

  6. Save Changes
Click Save to confirm your update.
