How to Add Additional Fees on VRBO

Why This Matters

Properly setting fees ensures your listings accurately reflect all costs for guests, prevents confusion or disputes, and maximizes your revenue. Applying standard and custom fees consistently also ensures compliance with Vrbo policies and helps maintain transparent pricing for all future bookings.

What You Need

  • Access to your Vrbo host account

  • Details of standard fees (cleaning, pet fees, etc.)

  • Details of any custom fees or additional charges you want to apply

  • Reservation information for any existing bookings requiring additional charges

Steps

For future bookings:

  1. Log in to your Vrbo account.

  2. Choose the listing you want to update.

  3. Go to the Calendar.

  4. Select Settings, then choose Fees.

  5. Under Standard Fees, enter the amounts for applicable fees like cleaning or pet fees.

  6. To add other charges, click Add Custom Fees and enter the details (you can add up to six).

  7. Select Save.

  8. Any taxes you've set up will be applied automatically based on the checkboxes that appear.

For an existing reservation:

  1. Log in to your Vrbo account.

  2. Navigate to the specific reservation.

  3. Send the guest a payment request for the additional charge before their stay begins.
