❌ What the AMS1 Does NOT Support

The AMS1 is a card-present, in-person payment terminal. The following payment types are not supported on this device:

  • MOTO (Mail Order / Telephone Order) — The AMS1 cannot process card-not-present transactions initiated by phone or mail order.

  • Manual card entry (keyed-in card numbers) — Manually typing in a card number is not a supported payment flow on the AMS1.

  • Virtual Terminal transactions — Card-not-present payments must be processed through the Virtual Terminal, not through a physical terminal.

If your customers need to take payments over the phone or by mail order, they should use the Virtual Terminal instead. Please reach out to your account manager or support if you need access to this feature.

🛠️ Basic Troubleshooting (AMS1)

1) Terminal won't turn on

  • Confirm the terminal is connected using the provided USB-C charging cable and region-specific power plug.

  • Try a different wall outlet.

  • Disconnect power for 30 seconds, then reconnect.

2) Screen is frozen, stuck, or unresponsive

  • Perform a full power restart:

    1. Unplug power

    2. Wait 30 seconds

    3. Plug back in

    4. Wait up to 3–5 minutes for boot

If the terminal was updating, allow extra time before restarting.

3) Terminal can't connect / boarding fails

  • Check the connection method in use:

    • Wi-Fi: confirm Wi-Fi is enabled and connected to the correct network

    • Ethernet: reseat the cable and try another port (if available)

    • Cellular: move the terminal to an area with better signal or confirm cellular is enabled for your deployment

4) Payments failing intermittently

  • Confirm the terminal has stable internet access (Wi-Fi/Ethernet/cellular).

  • Restart the terminal and retry.

  • If the issue affects multiple terminals at the same location, check the local network.
