⚠️ Important Notice – Terminal Discontinuation
Adyen has discontinued several terminal models referenced in this article due to the expiration of their PCI PTS 5.x security certification. Affected models include the P400 Plus / P400, M400, V400m, and V400c.
New orders: No longer available as of April 30, 2026
Troubleshooting & warranty coverage: Ends April 30, 2027
Looking to upgrade? See our terminal comparison guide to find a compatible replacement.
🧭 Scenario
Your sub-merchant already owns an Adyen terminal (e.g., P400) that is currently boarded under another company account — typically a different processor that also uses Adyen. They are moving their processing to you (a Valpay partner) and want to keep using their existing device instead of ordering a new one.
✅ Good news: this is supported. Adyen allows terminals to be reassigned from one company account to another, as long as the proper approvals are provided.
✅ What's Required
To process the company account change, we'll need both of the following:
Terminal details — the terminal's make, model, and serial number
Written authorization from an admin of the current (losing) company account — a clear "go ahead" email or letter confirming they approve the reassignment of the terminal to Valpay
💡 Note: Valpay admin approval is also required, but this is handled internally by our team — no action needed on your end for that piece.
📝 How to Submit the Request
Collect the terminal's make, model, and serial number from your sub-merchant.
Obtain a written authorization (email is sufficient) from an admin of the other company account stating they approve the terminal being moved to Valpay's company account.
Send both items to Valpay Level 2 Support at support@valpay.com. Please include:
Subject: Adyen Terminal Company Account Change – [Your Partner Name]
The terminal make, model, and serial number
The written authorization from the losing company's admin (attached or pasted)
The sub-merchant's store where the terminal will be assigned under your account
Our Level 2 Support team will coordinate directly with Adyen to complete the reassignment on your behalf and will keep you updated throughout the process.
🔧 After Reassignment — Important On-Device Step
Once the terminal has been reassigned, the old configuration must be wiped from the device before it can be boarded under the new company account.
On the terminal:
Admin Menu → Config → Remove/Erase
The terminal can then be boarded to your store like any other Adyen terminal. If you need help with boarding, please reach out to our Support team.
❓ Questions?
