How to label security tasks in Jira

Vanta detects priority from Jira's default priority value set (“Highest,” “High,” “Medium,” “Low,” “Lowest”). If a default Jira priority value is not present, Vanta checks for P0/P1/P2/P3 issue labels as a backup.

  • Vanta by default looks for the security label to pick up security issues:

  • If you are using the “security” tag for other uses or use other tags to track security tasks, you can customize the label in Vanta:

    • Navigate to your Jira connection on the Integrations page and click on Manage > Task tracking labels

    • In the modal that pops up, enter all the labels that you would like Vanta to use to track audit-related security issues:

    • After entering the labels you would like Vanta to track, hit Save

    • Once complete, Vanta will pull in tasks with Jira's configured security label.
