This feature is available for all plans within the limit shown on the pricing page for each plan.

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to automatically subtitle your video or audio using Veed.

  1. Head over to veed.io

  2. Create an account or Log in.

  3. From your dashboard, click on Create Project.

  4. Drag and drop the video to the "Upload a file" part of the window or click on it and you can select the file you want to upload.

  5. Wait for the video to upload.

  6. Head over to the Subtitles tab.

  7. You have three options for adding subtitles; A) Auto Subtitle, B) Manual Subtitles, and C) Upload Subtitle File. To generate the subtitles automatically, click Auto Subtitle.

  8. Select the language spoken click Create Subtitles.

If you have more than one video clip, you could click on the dropdown to select which clip you need to add subtitles to. Make sure you're selecting the clip that has the voice or audio.

  9. After a while, the subtitles will be generated. Generating subtitles should take a few minutes depending on the length of your video.

  10. You can now edit the subtitles by clicking on the lines on the left side and rewriting them or you can set the start and end time of each subtitle line. You can also download the subtitles as a .SRT, .VTT, or .TXT format in the Subtitles > Options tab. The feature to download the subtitle file is only available for Pro, Business Enterprise plans. For more information on editing the subtitles, check this article: How to Edit Subtitles.

  11. If you have other clips, click on the plus button to subtitle another clip then repeat the process of adding subtitles.

  12. Once you're done editing, click on the Done button at the top right, check the export settings then click Export Video. The project will then render and once it's done rendering, you will be directed to the video page where you can watch, download, and share the video.

If you want to subtitle clips that are different rows(multiple clips are shown at the same time), please make sure you check this article: How to show multiple videos at the same time

Adding subtitles manually or by uploading a file

  1. Click Manual Subtitles or Upload Subtitle File if you either want to add subtitles manually by typing or add subtitles by uploading a subtitle file.

  2. The next window will ask you to choose the clip you want to add subtitles to.

There is an option not to attach the subtitles to a specific video. This means the duration or timing of the subtitles will be attached on the project itself and not to any video clip.

  3. Select the language then click Add Subtitles or Import Subtitles then select your subtitle file to upload. Then, you could proceed on editing the subtitles or follow the same steps above.

For importing subtitle file, please check our article on How subtitle files work. There is a section on this article about having any issue importing SRT file.
