Device connection protocols are always being updated by manufacturers, so we are continuously working to keep Velocity aligned with the latest firmware updates. To make sure you're setting yourself up for success, here are some strongly recommended "Digital hygiene" practices:
Firmware updates: Keep your devices (smart trainers, HR straps, pedals, etc.) up to date via the manufacturer's app. You'll find that app in your Apple or Android stores.
Power Cycle: It's a good idea to unplug your smart trainer periodically for one minute and then plug it in again to flush out any crossed wires or twitch circuit boards.
Computer/tablet/iPad: It's also a good idea to reboot your computer from time to time to clear out memory caches and lingering applications.
Applications: If you have a lot of applications or programs that are requiring a lot of resources to operate in the background, it's recommended to close down the ones you're not using.
The #1 reason for device connections issues is that one or more of your devices (smart trainer, HR straps, pedals, etc.) are connected to another device (cycling head unit, watch, phone/manufacturer's app, etc.) or program (Zwift, Trainer Road, manufacturer's app, etc.). Bluetooth is a 1-to-1 relationship and those devices can only communicate with one device at a time.
Turn off Bluetooth on your phone during device setup. You'll still get phone calls, emails and messages via cellular or WiFi.
Shut down apps like Zwift or the manufacturer's when riding on Velocity.

General iPad digital hygiene is recommended and fairly easy to maintain:
Close down all unnecessary apps in the background
Double-click home button > swipe all apps up to close out
Ensure your OS is up to date
Setting> General> Software Update
Reboot your iPad from time to time to eliminate gremlins
Disable Bluetooth connections by toggling your Bluetooth off and then on again
Velocity Cycling App: Is available in the Apple Store or click here. Velocity WILL NOT run in Chrome on an iPad as Apple mobile devices run a proprietary version of Chrome which is not compatible.
Best practices: It's best practice to close out the Velocity app after you're done riding it. It clears out lingering connections and runs better. The app will remember your device connections, so it's very easy to relaunch it upon your next ride.

Velocity WILL NOT run in Safari and should not be used. The "Velocity Cycling" app may run on newer Macs with the M1/2 chips, but the Chrome experience tends to be better at this point.
Download or open Chrome on your Mac and launch the Riding app
Hard reset your browser occasionally by holding down Command+Shift+R

Velocity will run on most PCs and tablets through the Chrome browser with the web app
It's always a good idea to ensure your Chrome version is up to date by checking for updates or selecting automatic updates in the settings configuration.
