  1. Access Your Dashboard

  • Log in to your Vemcount account

  • Navigate to your dashboard view

This is where all widgets are displayed and managed.

2. Add a New Widget

  • Click the blue “+” (Add Widget) button (top-right corner)

This opens the widget selection panel.

3. Select “Chart Widget”

  • Choose Chart Widget from the available options

This widget is best suited for:

  • Footfall trends

  • Conversion over time

  • Queue behaviour analysis

4. Select Metric(s)

  • Choose the data metric(s) you want to display

Examples for people counting:

  • Visitors Entering

  • Visitors Inside

  • Conversion Rate

  • Turnover (if integrated)

  • Queue metrics

5. Choose Chart Type (Optional but Important)

You may be able to select a visual format, such as:

  • Line chart (best for trends)

  • Bar/column chart (best for comparisons)

  • Area chart (best for volume emphasis)

6. Select Data Source(s)

Choose where the data comes from:

Typical options include:

  • Location → Entire store/site

  • Zone → Specific area (e.g. fitting room, entrance)

  • Entrance → Specific door

  • Group/Tag → Multiple sensors grouped together

  • Best Practice:

  • Use location-level data for overall performance

  • Use zone-level data for behavioural insights (e.g. queue vs shop floor)

7. Configure Time & Context (Critical Step)

Although not explicitly listed in the basic guide, charts rely on:

  • Time period (e.g. today, last week, custom range)

  • Data granularity (hourly, daily, weekly)

  • Best Practice:

  • Use hourly intervals for operational decisions

  • Use daily/weekly for trend analysis

8. Proceed to Widget Layout

  • Click Next

  • This takes you to the visual and naming setup

9. Add Title & Description

  • Title (Required): Make it clear and actionable

  • Description (Optional): Add context if needed

  • Good examples:

  • “Hourly Footfall – Last 7 Days”

  • “Conversion Rate vs Traffic – Store A”

  • Avoid vague titles like “Chart 1”

10. Customise Appearance (Optional)

You can adjust:

  • Widget size (grid layout)

  • Colour scheme

  • Best Practice:

  • Use larger widgets for complex charts

  • Keep colours consistent across dashboards (e.g. blue = footfall)

11. Save the Widget

  • Click Save

  • The widget will now appear on your dashboard
