The VS133 uses LoRaWAN (wireless radio) to send data via a gateway to Vemcount. You will need the device's LoRa credentials (DevEUI, App EUI, App Key) and a LoRaWAN gateway connected to the Vemcount network server.
What you need before starting
VS133 sensor powered and accessible on your network
A LoRaWAN gateway within range (see Milesight gateway setup guide)
Login access to Vemcount (Admin role)
Step 1 — Get LoRa credentials from the sensor
Log in to the VS133 web interface.
Go to Communication → Device LoRa Info.
Note down: DevEUI, App EUI, App Key (click the eye icon to reveal).
Important: Join Type must be OTAA. Do not change the App Key or other LoRa settings from defaults.
Step 2 — Set up company structure in Vemcount
In Vemcount, create or navigate to the relevant Company (e.g. your customer's company).
Create a Location (e.g. the store name).
Create an Installation Zone where this sensor will count (e.g. Main Entrance).
Step 3 — Add VS133 to Vemcount
Go to ⚙ Settings → Devices → + Add sensor.
Fill in the following fields:
Name | Descriptive name (e.g. "VS133 — Main Entrance") |
Subscription | Select from dropdown |
Type | People Counter |
DevEUI | From Step 1 |
Vendor | Milesight IoT |
Frequency Plan | Select your region (EU868 for Europe, US915 for North America) |
LoRaWAN MAC Version | MAC V1.0.3 |
LoRaWAN PHY Version | PHY_V1.0.3_REV_A |
Join EUI | App EUI from Step 1 |
App Key | App Key from Step 1 |
Click Submit.
If you see a "duplicate DevEUI" error, this device has already been registered. Search for the DevEUI in Settings → Devices to find the existing record.
Step 4 — Verify live data
Wait 2–5 minutes after submitting.
Check the Installation Zone in Vemcount — you should see live people counts arriving.
If the zone shows a red indicator (no recent data), reduce the report interval on the VS133 sensor itself (go to Communication → Reporting Interval and set to 1 minute for testing).
Troubleshooting
No data after 10 minutes | Check the gateway is online and connected to ttn.vemcount.app UDP 1700. Check the VS133 join status in its web interface. |
Duplicate DevEUI error | Sensor already registered. Search in Settings → Devices. |
Wrong counts direction | Swap the entry/exit direction in the VS133 zone settings. |
