Milesight occupancy and desk sensors connect to Vemcount as IoT data sources, displayed via the Presence Overview widget (desk/seat grid) or the Realtime IoT widget (live metric). This guide covers VS121, VS340/341, VS370, and VS321.
Sensor selection guide
VS121 | AI Workplace Occupancy Sensor. Overhead ceiling mount (2.0–4.0m). Detects presence at individual desks, seats, or meeting rooms using AI vision. Works in 0 lux. Ethernet/PoE. Best for open-plan offices and co-working spaces. |
VS340 / VS341 | Desk & Seat Occupancy Sensor. Mounts directly under the desk or on the seat. LoRaWAN battery-powered. Ultra-compact. Best for individual hot-desks, library seats, or any scenario where overhead mounting is not possible. |
VS321 | Wireless AI Occupancy Sensor. Room and zone-level presence detection. LoRaWAN or PoE. Good for meeting rooms and enclosed spaces. |
VS370 | Radar Human Presence Sensor. Detects presence through non-metallic surfaces and in complete darkness. No camera. Ceiling or wall mount. LoRaWAN. Good for private offices, phone booths, quiet rooms where camera-based sensors are not acceptable. |
Vemcount widget mapping
Presence Overview widget | Shows individual sensor states (occupied/free) as a visual grid — ideal for a floor plan view showing which desks are available right now. Add via Dashboard → + → Widget → Presence Overview → Zone and sensor overview mode. |
Realtime IoT widget | Shows a live metric from any sensor (occupancy count, percentage, CO2, temperature, etc.). Add via Dashboard → + → Widget → Realtime → select sensor → select metric. |

Connecting to Vemcount
VS121 (Ethernet) — Configure HTTP push in the VS121 web interface to
https://data.vemcount.com/ss/milesight. Register in Vemcount → Settings → Devices → + Add sensor → MAC address → Vendor: Milesight.VS340/VS341 (LoRaWAN) — Requires a Milesight LoRaWAN gateway configured to push to
ttn.vemcount.app UDP 1700. Register each sensor's DevEUI in Vemcount under the correct zone.Add to dashboard — Once registered and data is flowing, add a Presence Overview or Realtime widget to your dashboard and select the sensor/zone as the source.
Use case example: A co-working space with 80 desks uses VS340 under each desk. Vemcount's Presence Overview widget shows a live grid of occupied vs free desks on a lobby screen. The Live Inside widget shows total occupied count updated every minute. Members check desk availability on a TV display at reception.
