Written by Vemco Group

SPIDER is a Xovis edge processing unit that enables very large multi-sensor installations — up to 350 sensors in a single logical sensor. It handles all image processing, tracking, and data aggregation, outputting a single unified data stream.

When do you need a SPIDER?

PC-Series

Up to 9 sensors in a multisensor without SPIDER. More than 9 → SPIDER required.

PF-Series

Up to 15 sensors in a multisensor without SPIDER. More than 15 → SPIDER required.

Mixed PF + PC

PF and PC sensors can be combined in the same multisensor — SPIDER manages the combined stream.

Use cases

  • Shopping malls — tracking visitors across the entire floor plan as a single zone

  • Airports and transit hubs — continuous tracking through check-in, security, gates

  • Warehouses and logistics — flow tracking across large operational floor areas

  • Smart buildings — whole-floor or whole-building occupancy and flow analytics

Key capabilities

Max sensors

Up to 350 sensors in a single multisensor

Tracking

Combines image and data streams from all connected sensors into seamless cross-zone visitor tracking

Configuration

Remote access — add counting lines, zones, logic, and push agents via HUB Device Control

Network

Supports IPv4 and IPv6

Security

Highest security standards — data push via HTTPS, SFTP, or MQTTS only

Data output

Single data push from the SPIDER covering all connected sensors — simplifies integration

FW 5.9 multisensor improvements

FW 5.9 introduced a new stitching algorithm that improves tracking across sensors in a multisensor and enables flexible sensor placement beyond flat floors. This enables seamless PC + PF integration for door-to-floor journey tracking.

Accessories

The SPIDER Wall Mount Bracket (PA-SPI-WM) provides a quick-install wall mounting solution with a locking mechanism — no specialist tools required. Supplied screws ensure secure wall attachment.

Connecting SPIDER to Vemcount

SPIDER behaves as a single sensor from Vemcount's perspective. Register the SPIDER's MAC address in Settings → Devices. All counting lines and zones configured on the SPIDER are available in Vemcount as data sources for zones, widgets, and analytics.
