How to use tags

This guide explains how Tags can be used in Vemcount to categorize locations and return separate results for each location within the same category.

Tags help organize multiple locations under one shared label while keeping each location visible as a separate result in reports and widgets.

According to the official term explanation, Tags work similarly to Groups, but there is one important difference: Groups return a combined total, while Tags return separate results for each location assigned to the tag.

This makes Tags useful when you want to compare locations that belong to the same category, such as country, region, store type, campaign, or ownership structure, without selecting each location one by one.

Example uses

Tag example

Typical result

Denmark

Show all Danish locations under one tag while still listing each location separately in the output.

Flagship

Compare all flagship stores across the business without combining them into one total.

Airport stores

Review performance for airport locations as one category while still seeing each location's own figures.

How to use Tags

  1. Open Setup | Companies and select the relevant company.

  2. Open Tags in the company menu.

  3. Create a new tag or edit an existing one.

  4. Enter a clear and descriptive tag name.

  5. Assign the relevant locations to the tag.

  6. Save the tag when the setup is complete.

  7. Use Tags as a source in reports or widgets when you want separate results for each tagged location.

Important: Use Tags when you want to keep location results separate. If you need one combined total across several locations, use Groups instead.
